"To pity
distress it but human; to relieve it
is Godlike."
--Horace

I
wish
there were more people as loving,
kind and compassionate as the Davis'
are. We have been friends now for
8 years and they have shown me the
purest meaning of unconditional
love. From sharing Christmas together,
opening their hearts and home to
me, watching me barf, to rolling
me through the airports in a wheelchair,
they have always been by my side
no matter what. We've also shared
the great passion of Harleys and
tattoos together amongst other things.
Their love and laughter is contagious
and infectious! They have been married
for over 20 years and are still
very much in love! Live to ride
my dear friends! Thank you is not
enough!
Thank you for being an inspiration to appreciate Life to the fullest! Rock on, my Pirate friend!"

Bob
In case you
can't figure
out who this
is from, it
is Jesse (Erin's
friend). I wanted
to write to
wish you the
best and to
let you know
that Erin called
from Italy today
to say how much
she loves you
and how much
she is thinking
about you. She
really wants
you to know
that she wishes
you the best
and that she
will be in L.A.
as soon as she
possibly can
once she returns
from her trip.
Bob, I barely
know you, but
the little piece
that I do know
seems to be
one hell of
a fighter. Hang
in there, fight
like I know
you will and
know that there
are people all
over this state,
coast and country
that love and
are thinking
of you. I wish
you the best
and send my
prayers. You
are a martyr
for so many
and have given
so much -- I
only hope you
know how important
and meaningful
the work you
do is.
Enough for now.
I wish you the
best.
Good luck and
Godspeed.

AIDS Life Cycle 8 -
A note from my dear
friend Liana
Please donate to Liana
and help her efforts in
the FIGHT against
HIV/AIDS
For those of you that
know me, you may not
know that while living
in Los Angeles I became
close to a man named
Bob Bowers.
That's our Bob!
Bob was the
first person with
AIDS
that I had ever gotten
to know, and also one of
the first recorded cases
of HIV in the country.
Bob changed the face of
AIDS for me, and
countless other students
he was working with. He
respected us enough to
expect us to be the
change for
AIDS. He was
strong, honest, totally
bad ass! and always down
to earth.
I'm not riding because
Bob continues to thrive
25 years after being
diagnosed; I'm riding
because for 25 years he
has given hope,
strength, and
empowerment to thousands
upon thousands of
people. Living with HIV,
AIDS or not. Thank you,
Bob. You taught me that
there is something I can
do about it.
Because of his influence
I went on to complete
three
AIDS Walk LA
events, two March of
Dimes marathons, and two
Breast Cancer awareness
runs.
So, as a graduation gift
to myself, I'm bicycling
in AIDS/LifeCycle 8 from
May 31-June 6, 2009.
Crazy, right? I've never
done anything like this
before. It's a 7-day,
545-mile bike ride from
San Francisco to Los
Angeles. I'm using most
weekends until May to
train for it. My goal is
to raise $5,000 dollars
for the San Francisco
AIDS Foundation.
Please spread the word
to help me reach my
goal! Feel free to send
this link to anyone and
everyone you know.
