Bob,
you were just the cutest thing when
we were in grade school and have
grown to be a handsome, very driven
man. I applaud all that you do and
wish you nothing but the best and
may you continue to stay strong.
Most people don't have near the
drive or discipline, let alone energy
that you appear to have. You are
truly an amazing man. My hat is
off to you my friend, you are truly
an ANGEL and a gift to this earth
and the life of everyone you come
in contact with. Take care of yourself.

Da Pirate in Kindergarten...I forget how LONG ago?
Hmmm. musta left da bowtie at home?
I
ABSOLUTELY loved hearing from
Bob Bowers. I
was so inspired by his upbeat attitude, and
I really wish we could have sat there for another
hour with him. I stayed after class to chat
with him a bit. I just found him so incredibly
motivating. It made me think about the little
things that I complain about, and after hearing
a man like Bob, I realized that I really shouldn't
have anything to complain about. His attitude
and his intolerance for ignorance is an example
for everyone. After 22 years of living with
the virus, Bob has done so much to help the
community and provide
outreach to people affected
by the virus.

I just wanted to say thank you SO MUCH for
taking the time out of your busy schedule to
come & visit me on Saturday. I'm so glad the
weather was nice, and I had SUCH a great
time. I had forgotten what a playful and fun
person you are. We used to have so much fun
in the WOW class with you, I remember being
so bummed when you left. But I'm really glad
that we have stayed in touch and I'm even
more thrilled that things are going well for
you, and you're feeling good.
Y' know, I had wanted to tell you this
before, but we were gabbing about so many
things. Have you ever heard that country
song by Tim McGraw, where he sings about
being diagnosed with cancer, and how that
prompted him to 'live' more? Do you know
that song? It reminds me of you every time I
hear it. You are the epitome of the chorus
he sings "I went skydiving, I went
Rocky
Mountain climbing, I went 6.2 on a
bull
named Fu Man Chu............. I hope someday
you get the chance to live like you were
dying." Did he ever meet you? I think he
wrote that song for you. = )
You are a reminder to everyone you meet how
precious and tenuous every day we have on
earth. Your energy, enthusiasm, and
positivity are truly contagious. I wish
there were more people in the world with a
heart as big as yours. You really are an
amazing person, and I am so blessed to know
you and call you friend.
It is my great honor
and pleasure to provide
my strongest reference
for Mr. Bob Bowers.
I encourage any church,
school, civic group
or business to invite
him to make a presentation
about his life and HIV/AIDS.
I know your audience
members will gain much
from Bob’s inspiring
and hopeful journey.
I had the privilege
of working with Bob
this summer when he
volunteered for Camp
Heartland, a national
organization that makes
a profound impact on
the lives of children
affected by HIV/AIDS. Bob was directly responsible
for the day to day well
being of a number of
children living with
HIV/AIDS. He certainly
rose to the occasion.
As a HIV positive individual
himself, Bob had a special
connection with each
child. By sharing his
own story of overcoming
obstacles, Bob motivated
our campers that they
too can fulfill their
dreams.
Even today, secrecy
still surrounds
HIV/AIDS.
Fortunately, Bob Bowers
is a leading youth HIV/AIDS
educator, ambassador
and spokesperson. Through
his speeches, Web sites
and new
documentary
film about his life
called The Fire
Within,Bob is providing
much needed leadership
in the areas of HIV
awareness and prevention.
In addition, by living
his life with great
humor, integrity, strength
and purpose, Bob has
bridged the gap between
diverse groups of individuals
and in so doing, has
lessened the stigma
and discrimination that
is so often associated
with HIV/AIDS.
After becoming friends
with Bob, I know my
life is more enriched.
Please consider opening
doors for him so he
can make a vital impact
for your school, church
or organization.
You will be thrilled
that you did!
