| Attending
Camp Heartland in Malibu, California
has been a dream in the works for
many years now. This year proved
to be the right year. It was a very
welcome dream come true for me.
I would be remiss not to mention
the incredible administration team
led by the infamous "Hammer", the
staff and children of Camp Heartland
for making me feel so loved and
supported! If my time spent at Camp
in Willow River, Minnesota wasn't
spectacular enough, camp in Malibu
was absolutely over the top. It
included all the traditional skills
and activities and some new and
different ones, too. We also had
some very special help from long-time
supporters of camp and some local
Hollywood celebrities. Some of that
'help' came in the way of two of
my dear friends, the amazing Jake
Glaser and actress and singer EG
Daily. I was grateful and moved
beyond words to have them 'join
the family' at camp and to have
so many friends of mine featured
on www.onetoughpirate.com all together
in the same wonderful place! I also
can't tell you what a pleasure it
was to finally meet Mr. David Gale,
Executive Vice President of MTV
Films, who is responsible for bringing
this week of camp to Malibu, California.
Please take the time to learn more
about Hollywood Heart! Thank you
David, Lisa Cavanaugh, Hollywood
Heart, Argent Mortgage, Stilleto
Entertainment, Joel Goldman and
all of the wonderful volunteers
and organizations who helped to
make this week of camp flow so smoothly!
I sincerely hope that you enjoy
the over 200 photos and let them
tell part of the incredible tale
that is "Camp Heartland" in Malibu! |

A
friend featured on OTP is
Ms. Kalee Garland.
I met Kalee while at
Camp Heartland's Youth
Retreat last Fall. I couldn't be
prouder to say she was featured in length on the
recent MTV special
"Think HIV-This is Me." The show was amazing
and if you missed it, you can
click here to view it online.
Just click "Channels" then "News" and then click
on the title of the show. I'd like to extend a special
thanks to David Gale, Executive-Vice President of
MTV Films for being so gracious with
Kalee, me and
others at camp! Thank you is not nearly enough. |
