I
have to remind myself at times,
that life with HIV/AIDS has
it's many blessings,
too. I've been rather fortunate
to experience countless miracles,
wonderful and fun encounters
and some unbelievable opportunities
in my adult life while living
with a supposed death sentence.
Speaking about and living with
AIDS has taught me to appreciate
the good times with the not
so good times. I've had plenty
of both. Here are just a few
'memorable moments' that were
captured on film,
enjoying life with some most
remarkable people! The picture
with Magic Johnson is quite
'ironic.'
Magic had not gone public with
his diagnosis and I had been
living with HIV for 7 years,
little did we know...Thank you
to all who have helped
to make these pleasant encounters
and relationships a reality!
I'm truly grateful for my life,
family,
friends,
and the good fortune to continue
experiencing this amazing journey
that we call
"LIFE"!

"Bob
Bowers is a passionate activist
and educator. As someone who
has lived with AIDS for over
20 years, Bob is not just a
survivor. He works passionately
to fight complacency and improve
the lives of those around him.
His commitment to teaching young
people about the importance
of healthy choices in their
lives, and his advocacy of quality
health care for those living
with AIDS, are just two examples
of his numerous good works."

This was the first time ever the two have publicly
spoken together. It was indeed an honor!
"We
are not lepers or indispensable; we are brothers,
sister, sons, daughters, parents, and yes, even
grandparents who for one reason or another were
infected with the AIDS virus. The “H” in HIV
stands for Human. If we can unite to end AIDS,
we will hopefully put right many other divisions
that face us as a world."
I
have such mad love and respect
for the media here in Madison.
Thank you all for
your love, friendship
and for providing critical
awareness of HIV/AIDS.
